It's Halloween Time! That means Clifton Park's House on Haunted Hill, presented by CPFunHouse.cjb.net

VIDEO: "The Dark Knight" featuring "Right in Two" by Tool

With the recent announcement that the third Batman film from Christopher Nolan will be titled "The Dark Knight Rises" (and the fact that I already knocked off Batman Begins with the Dizzle treatment), it seems no better time than Halloween to honor the most bad-ass men in Halloween costumes on display ever in display on film, in Nolan's Academy Award winning magnum opus, The Dark Knight.

Unless you've been living under a rock for the last few years, you know something about this film. In Heath Ledger's final complete role on film that earned him an Oscar as the seriously demented symbol of anarchy The Joker, he comes to wreak havoc on Gotham City and "the Batman" (Christian Bale) on his way to unleashing total chaos. With Commissioner Gordon (Gary fuckin' Oldman) and new District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) on his side, Bruce Wayne continues his well-intentioned vigilante crusade for his city, but as the Joker continues his path of destruction centering on the Gotham trio and caters to Harvey's "Two-Face" mentality, can the fight against crime in Gotham still be salvaged?

I'm still blown away by people who didn't enjoy the movie, as I feel it's such a realistic and gritty feeling movie that you could take out the men in costumes and face paint and it would be a legit mob drama/action film. If it's on HBO while channel surfing, no matter where it is in the film, I find myself being able to turn it on and watch it straight through til the end, unintentionally even. I've talked to a lot of others who have done the same and witnessed others do it as well. Even with a 2 and a half hour run length, it doesn't feel like a "long" movie, which is something I credit as a personal skill of Chris Nolan to be able to make mega-blockbusters that clock in over 2 hours that still manage to hold the attention of the ADD-aimed audiences.

Another credit to the film is the replay value. Despite having seen it 6 times in theaters and a couple dozen times on DVD the month after it was released, I want back to theaters to check out The Dark Knight in what would be my first IMAX experience when it was re-released for a limited time in January 2009. Even after having seen it so many times, it was still just as engaging and the IMAX definitely brought some breath-taking visual detail in shots of the city-scape (the Hong Kong tower dive showing the headlights on cars far below on the city streets), in addition to the loudest sound effects ever in the last 5 minutes, just in case you happen to be losing attention.

For such a film packed full of awesomeness for such long-endeared characters like Batman and the Joker, it should take a band that is also long appreciated, who not only kick a lot of ass but who also put out some longer tunes in the same atmosphere as The Dark Knight brings to the table. To fit that bill, I went with Tool and what I think is one of their most under-appreciated albums since it's chart-topping release in 10,000 Days. It's one of my personal favorite "beginning-to-end" CDs, and even if you're not listening to the whole album, at least half the tracks are good enough to pop on at any given time. One of these tracks is the last song on the album Right in Two, clocking in at just under 9 minutes. Before the video was even 1/3rd done, my sister (equally huge Batman fan) saw about 30 seconds of my progress, and her first comment was how perfect the music was, so I call it a win.

So with that, let's get to update numero seis for the Dizzle Halloween series: The Dark Knight featuring "Right in Two" by Tool. --Tommy Dizzlemits
